EOI from the IMSANZ POCUS Special Interest Group
The IMSANZ Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) special interest group is
looking for contributors to develop a scope of practice for POCUS use
for general physicians. We have recently published an editorial in the
Internal Medicine Journal outlining the rationale and a summary of how
POCUS could be used in our practice (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/imj.16272).
Several international internal medicine societies have already
developed scopes of practice and we envisage minimal deviation, but ours
must be appropriate for the Australian and New Zealand setting.
We aim to start in February 2024. We will use the Delphi method to arrive at consensus and then publish a position statement.
If you are interested in taking part or have any questions, please email [email protected] with a brief description of any relevant expertise.
Kind regards,
Dr Liz Potter on behalf of the IMSANZ POCUS special interest group.
