IM Beds: 25
IM Inpatient Activity: 120 to 200 admissions a month
IM Outpatient Clinics: 140 per week
IM Specialty Interests / Special Units: Cardiology, Geriatrics

Formal Training

Lectures: One a week
Journal Club: One a fortnight
Grand Rounds: One a week
Consult Rounds: Four a week
Specialty Rotations: Nil
Research: Ad hoc
Quality Improvement: Monthly Morbidity-mortality meetings, QA projects

Trainee Responsibilities in IM

Coverage Roster: Every 2nd day and every 2nd weekend
Workload in Medicine Units: General Medical Beds, Rehabilitation Ward, Surgical and Maternity Consults, Daily on take.
Teaching Responsibilities For 5th years medical students all year, 6th year periodically throughout the year.
Research/presentations: 1 in four grand rounds, at every Journal club and X-ray meetings.
