Organisation
| Staff: |
Over 17 General Physicians (5 infectious
diseases, 3 endocrinologists, 2 respiratory, 2 gastroeterologists,
1 nephrologist, 1 geriatrician, 1 neurologist, 1 clinical pharmacologist,
1 clinical epidemiologist); most staff specialists, 2 VMOs |

Students can rotate through 3 campuses:
John Hunter Hospital - 550 bed tertiary
care teaching hospital, General Medicine organised in 4 medical teams.
Belmont District Hospital - a 75
bed district hospital, General Medicine organised in 4 medical
teams.
Calvary Mater Hospital - 200 bed
teaching hospital, General Medicine organised in 4 medical
teams.
There is also the opportunity to rotate through many rural centres including
Tamworth, Taree and Armidale. |

Trainee Responsibilities in I.M.
| Coverage Roster: |
Acting as junior consultant during
in patient General Medicine rotations, taking call from home. 1 in
14 to 1 in 28 afterhours roster in-hospital call |

Leading general medicine team (senior and junior
registrar, plus medical student), plus 3 half day ambulatory clinics/week |
| Teaching Responsibilities |
Bedside teaching to team. Occasional medical student
physical exam skills tutorial groups. Leading morning report |

Annual research project for RACP. Grand rounds:
1/year. Case rounds: 3/year |
