IMSANZ Council
Purpose
The IMSANZ Council was established to provide general guidance and advice to the Board regarding the diverse needs of the wider IMSANZ membership.
Membership and Representation
The Council is comprised of members from both sides of the Tasman, ensuring representation across rural, regional, and metropolitan areas. Council members bring a diverse range of skills and experience—from advanced trainees to long-standing physicians—reflecting the depth and breadth of IMSANZ membership.
To represent the broad interests of IMSANZ members, the Council includes members with interests in:
- Sub or cross-specialty medicine (e.g. perioperative medicine, stroke medicine)
- Dual training and the needs of dual-trained physicians
- Policy and advocacy
- Communications and media, including the IMSANZ Newsletter and conferences
- Research
Council and Board Connection
In addition to members expressly elected to the IMSANZ Council, those members elected as Directors automatically become members of the IMSANZ Council.
