The IMSANZ Council was established to provide general guidance and advice to the Board regarding the diverse needs of the wider IMSANZ membership.
The Council is currently comprised of members across various locations across both sides of the Tasman, to ensure representation from rural, regional and metropolitan members. Our Council members have a diverse range of skills and experience, from advanced trainees, to recently qualified physicians and long-standing IMSANZ members. To reflect the broad interests of IMSANZ members, the council comprises members with interests in a number of areas including:
Sub or cross specialty medicine e.g. perioperative medicine, stroke medicine
Dual training and the needs of dual-trained Physicians
Policy and Advocacy
Communications and Media, including IMSANZ Newsletter and conferences
Research
In addition to the members expressly elected to the IMSANZ Council, those members elected as Directors automatically become members of the IMSANZ Council.
