The Organisation
You will be based at a regional hospital with 171 acute inpatient beds of which 71 are allocated to General Medicine. Daily admissions average 14 with additional patients seen for other craft groups.

The hospital has a busy ED, an 8-bed ICU, a General Surgical Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and a Psychiatric Unit. 

An extensive campus re-development plan is currently in the design phase, which will ensure the hospital continues to attract high-quality medical staff and will develop into a Teaching, Training and Research hub.

The Job 
  • You will join a collegiate team including consultant physicians, medical registrars, resident medical officers, and interns
  • Here you will enjoy a broader scope of practice and true breadth of medicine across all specialties with opportunities to practice procedures you would not have access to in a metro setting
  • You will have the opportunity to assist in the teaching of medical students and medical colleagues
  • You will participate in a 24/7 roster and are expected to cover evenings, nights, and weekends, rostered
  • The Royal Australasian College of Physicians accredits the site for 12 months of Basic Physician Training and 12 months of Advanced Training in General Medicine

Requirements
 
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
  • Please note doctors seeking their first position in Australia via the Standard Pathway or doctors with current registration and Level 1 supervision requirements cannot be considered at this time
