Experience true general medicine in a subregional hospital less than 2 hours from Melbourne - 4 unaccredited general medicine registrar positions available - Start ASAP - Dedicated weekly training time The Organisation You will be working for the major public healthcare provider for this region located on the stunning southeast coast of Victoria. As a growing sub-regional health service, it provides a range of hospital and community-based care including a 24-hour emergency department, acute, sub-acute aged and ambulatory care services. The Job - You will be joining a team of 6 registrars working across 2 teams under the direction of experienced Consultants and supported by a team of dedicated HMOs and medical students - Medical registrars are responsible for the management of patients admitted under the medical ward consultant to the Infusion and Treatment Unit (ITCU) and Hospital in the Home (HITH). The position will also provide clinical support to the haemodialysis unit under the supervision of Monash Nephrology and the acute medical consultant - You will work on a shared roster including AM, PM and night duty (ND) shifts across acute medical ward, including admission and management of patients admitted to the acute medical ward beds under the supervision of the senior medical staff doctor on duty in the acute medical ward, and responding to MET calls and Code Blues - Registrars will participate in dedicated weekly training sessions - Registrars will also have access to quality improvement opportunities, including attending M&M meetings Rewards - Competitive salary package in line with VIC EBA - classification level dependent on previous experience - Gain valuable experience in true general medicine in a supportive team - Located less than 2 hours from Melbourne, you can enjoy sun, sand and surf in this coastal haven with the city lights only a drive away Requirements - Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority or Short Term Training Pathway Please note doctors seeking their first position in Australia via the Standard Pathway or doctors with current registration and Level 1 supervision requirements cannot be considered at this time.
